What is Faceless?

What does Faceless solve?
The lack of privacy in cryptocurrency transactions poses a serious concern for users today. Every on-chain action on Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains is public, potentially exposing your entire financial portfolio across multiple networks.
This level of transparency opens the door to targeted attacks, scams, extortion, and even physical threats. Faceless solves this by restoring your privacy, protecting your data, and securing your safety.
What will people see on-chain?
Mainly two things:
That funds were moved into a smart contract, or
That funds were withdrawn from a smart contract.
This contract is decentralised, well-audited, and acts as a private ledger (database) for all Railgun-based private addresses like ours.
When someone observes a withdrawal, they’ll only see that it came from the shared privacy pool — not which private address it belonged to. The anonymity set is large, and individual ownership cannot be linked.
Is this legal?
Faceless is not a mixer. The funds in your private address are specifically yours, never mingled or co-owned. You remain in full custody at all times.
As the owner, you can view your private transaction history, including:
Addresses that sent you funds
Recipients of any outgoing funds
Time-stamps with token quantities

Are there fees?
In short - The fees are so minimal that you'll barely notice them... For depositing into or withdrawing from your Private Address, the Railgun smart contracts impose a 0.25% fee on each transaction. This fee is sent directly to the Railgun DAO treasury. Please note that Railgun and Faceless are separate entities managed by different teams, so Faceless does not receive any portion of this treasury without investing in it like anybody else.
